A&W's famous ''Root Beer'' is a soft drink with alcohol-free gas. A peculiar mixture of extracts of vanilla, licorice, sarsaparilla, nutmeg and other aromatic herbs. It is not about beer, as its name might suggest, but about a soda with gas with a very characteristic pleasant taste. With this soda you can create the famous and refreshing American dessert Root Beer Float: add one or two tablespoons of vanilla ice cream in a glass and of course your Root Beer cold.
